Our new world-class Silicon Valley SV1 Data Center at 1160 Walsh Ave., Santa Clara, California is strategically located in the heart of the tech capital of the world. With a total of 160,000 sq. ft. and 16 MW of critical IT load, Silicon Valley SV1 provides scale, a proven design, and a rich ecosystem of connectivity options to major carriers, cloud providers, content networks, and other data centers. This facility is the first in Santa Clara to use an earthquake-resistant design featuring an innovative base isolation system.

Power

  • 16 MW of critical IT load
  • Power densities supported from 7kW per rack to 20kW per rack, with higher densities possible upon request
  • Superior power redundancy from diverse utility feeds
  • N+1 electrical and mechanical redundancy (4 to make 3 distributed redundancy)
  • Renewable energy options available

Network & Connectivity

  • Connected to three fiber entrance facilities and two Meet Me Rooms where carriers are located
  • Multiple Tier-1 carriers on-site including Level 3, Frontier and Wholesale Networks (with access to other local networks for dark fiber), with more to come including NTT GN
  • Direct connectivity to major cloud providers, applications providers and enterprise ecosystem

 

Cooling

  • All equipment is concurrently maintainable, while still cooling 100% of the IT load
  • Essentially no water use due to closed loop chiller plant
  • Cooled by 16 366‐ton, roof-mounted air‐cooled chillers with integrated free cooling coils and pumps and two chillers for redundancy

Security

  • 24x7 in-house security staff, shipping and receiving with secure short-term and long-term storage space
  • Multi-factor authentication and multi-level security zones
  • Anti-tailgate revolving mantrap to enter the facility 
  • Intelligent high-definition video surveillance system 
  • Anti-climb perimeter fence

Our state-of-the-art seismic stability design utilizes a base isolation system that incorporates a combination of subterranean pendulum isolation and viscous dampers to protect the building and everything inside it.
